Actualmente el mundo experimenta el más alto nivel de sufrimiento desde la Segunda Guerra mundial; una situación que ha llevado a Ban Ki-moon, Secretario General de Naciones Unidad, a convocar la Cumbre Humanitaria Mundial en Estambul los días 23 y 24 de mayo de 2016.
Esta Cumbre, que se celebra por primera vez en los 70 años de historia de las Naciones Unidas, tiene como objetivo hacer un llamamiento a los líderes mundiales de todos los sectores para que asuman y reafirmen sus responsabilidades en favor de la Agenda para la Humanidad, bajo el lema «Una humanidad: nuestra responsabilidad compartida», asumiendo cinco responsabilidades fundamentales:
- Prevenir los conflictos y ponerles fin
- Respetar las normas de la guerra
- No dejar a nadie atrás
- Trabajar de manera diferente para poner fin a las necesidades
- Invertir en humanidad
Currently, the world is confronted with the highest level of suffering sinc World War II; this situation has led Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations to coven the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul on May 23-24, 2016.
This Summit, celebrated for the first time in the 70 years history of the United Nations, is aimed to call on world leaders from all sectors to assume and confirm their responsibilities in favour of the Agenda for Humanity, under the slogan «One Humanity, Shared Responsability», assuming five core responsibilities:
- Prevention and end of conflicts
- To respect the rules of war
- To not leave anyone behind
- To work differently in order to bring an end to the needs.
- To invest in humanity
